These steps do work. I have done them and Clinton, McCain and Obama no longer show up on my homepage. I was so happy that I decided to create a tutorial who didn't know how to do this could see. You must be logged in for these three steps to work. If you don't have an account then you must register for one and login before you complete these steps.
Step 1: Click Customize
'Click the Customize link on your digg homepage highlighted above with the red box.
Step 2: Scroll Down and Uncheck Boxes
Scroll down and uncheck the political news, political opinion and US Elections 2008 check boxes highlighted above.
Step 3: Click "Save Changes". You're done!!
Click on the save changes button below the boxes you unchecked and highlighted in red above and as long as you stay logged in to Digg posts about McCain, Obama and Clinton will not appear when you visit digg. Good riddance.
I've been wishing there was a way to rid these posts from Digg since Super Tuesday, but the other day I got really annoyed and figured out how to do it. I'm posting it here so other readers who weren't aware these options were available can use them.
Politics seems to have taken over the Digg homepage and I miss the old digg that mostly covered science and technology.
